Overview In Vietnam’s southern highlands the scenery is spectacular and the climate soothing. No wonder the colonial powers sought out Đà Lạt as their summer retreat. Head towards the coast and the beach lover has a number of options: the lesser known and quieter resorts of Phan Thiết. The tropical south also offers nightlife and an exciting buzz in Hồ Chí Minh City, formerly known as Saigon, or for a more relaxing time journey deep into the Mekong Delta and witness a lifestyle and tradition that has changed little over the years.

ALT's tour guide will pick you up at Tân Sơn Nhất airport in Hồ Chí Minh City. Transfer to your hotel for check-in. Enjoy an evening Water Puppet Show. A theatrical genre reflecting the agricutural civilization of thousands of years ago and welcome dinner on cruise along Sài Gòn river. Stay overnight in Hồ Chí Minh City.

Enjoy a full day exploring the city. Firstly, Notre Dame Cathedral, City Hall, Opera House and Saigon Post Office - the best highlights of classical French colonial architecture. Walk to the nearby Reunification Palace (outside), witness of the historic events of old Saigon and famous for its architectural characteristics. Then, visitors discover the very popular War Remnants Museum, the one that gathers a comprehensive collection of the machinery, weapons, photographs and documentation of the Vietnam wars. Stop by the Jade Emperor Pagoda, built in 1909 in honor of the supreme Taoist god, one of the most spectacularly colorful temples.

Have lunch at local restaurant and continute for afternoon tour.

In the afternoon, visit the famous Củ Chi Tunnels which consist of an incredible underground network of tunnels constructed by Vietnamese resistance fighters during both the French and American wars. Discover secret trapdoors, field hospitals, command posts, underground kitchens, living areas and meeting rooms, challenge yourself to discover tunnels which just fit your body. Additionally, you can experience firing the AK 47, M16 - the typical weapons of the two major resistance (option).

Tour ends at Bến Thành Market – the colorful market with plenty of goods and souvenir or drive back to your hotel. Overnight in Saigon.

Pick up at your hotel in Hồ Chí Minh city, drive to Cái Bè in the heart of the Mekong Delta, you will board a motorized boat that takes you to the floating market and spend time there for an interaction that you can see nowhere else in the world. Then on foot to reach a coconut candy, a crispy rice cake factories (served free with premium hot tea), riding bicycle around local village to Út Kiệt ancient house for lunch.

After lunch, visitors get on small row sampan, zigzag through a maze of shadow canals to enjoy the fresh air along the canal and beautiful water coconut tree scenery. The next stop is Vĩnh Long city. From island by boat, we will land on a marketplace and walk around to see how and what the rural people of Vietnam sell in city. Visitors will have a chance to interact with the vendors and see how friendly and respectful they are.

Then on our coach, we transfer to Cần Thơ city. Check - in hotel, free explore on your own. Overnight in Cần Thơ city.

After having breakfast at hotel, we transfer to Ninh Kiều wharf for a boat trip and visit Cái Răng floating market - one of ten most impressive markets in the world by The UK’s Rough Guide. In there, you can discover typical daily life of local people who are selling, buying, bargaining and serving breakfast and soft drinks on boats. On the way back, you will stop over farmer's house, visiting an orchard followed by a 30-minute break for drinking tea and enjoying fruits. Then, cruising back to local market. From there you can buy some tropical fruits, have lunch and drive back to Saigon.

Stay overnight in Hồ Chí Minh City.

Early morning, depart for a scenic drive through rubber and tea plantations en route to the cooler climes of Đà Lạt city, 310 kilometers from Hồ Chí Minh City. Have lunch at a rest stop Bảo Lộc town, where you can taste special flavor of local tea and coffee.

Stay overnight in Đà Lạt city.

After breakfast, we spend this day to discover the romantic city - Đà Lạt, established on a plateau some 1,500 meters above sea level in 1912 and reminiscent of an alpine town with its French chalets and pine forests.

In the morning, visit Đà Lạt Flower Garden and take a 40-minute train ride - the train was used during the French domination and is now only used in Đà Lạt to Trại Mát garden. Enjoy the nice scenery of vegetable, flower, and fruit gardens along the route. After that, having a short-distance walk to Linh Phước Pagoda – the 49 meter long dragon temple is made of 12,000 bottles, is considered a special architectural mosaic of Đà Lạt city.

In the afternoon, we will visit former summer residence of King Bảo Đại Palace (the last emperor of Vietnam), Trúc Lâm Zen Monastery and the hand embroidery village of "XQ History".

Stay overnight in Đà Lạt city.

In the morning, visit the 110-year old Đà Lạt market and spend time shopping souvenir, fried fruit,…for your family or friends. Then, we depart for Phan Thiết (220 kilometes) via Ngoạn Mục Pass. Stop over in Phan Rang to visit Po Klong Garai Chăm Towers and Chăm traditional handicraft villages where people produce terracotta and weave brocade (Mỹ Nghiệp brocade - weaving village and Bầu Trúc pottery village). On arrival, stop over at Hong Lam Hamlet, Hoa Thang Village to visit Bầu Trắng (White Lake) - a freshwater lake formed long ago in the middle of a vast sand dune area alternated with poplar forests. Lotus flowers naturally grow around the lake and embellish it with their pinkish blossom. Then droping into the stunning Mũi Né sand dunes, an ideal place for photographers before transferring to your resort.

Have lunch at local restaurant. Spend the afternoon lying on the beach and enjoying the facilities of your luxury 4 star-resort.

Stay overnight in Phan Thiết.

Relax on the sandy beach, lounge by the pool side, spa facilities or take some optional tour exploring this coastal city. Stay overnight in Phan Thiết.


Use your free time this morning to soak up more of fresh sea breeze until check-out. Leave for Hồ Chí Minh City (200km) and stop by a Dragon fruit farm or Vineyard garden en route. If time permits, spend last minutes strolling around the shopping streets. Transfer to the airport for departure.

Travel Visa

Most countries in South East Asia require you to obtain a visa. Please check carefully with your travel specialist regarding specific visa requirements for each country you plan to visit as the legislation does change frequently. Thailand offers a free visa on arrival to most nationalities. Other countries including Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar offer a “visa-on-arrival” service which requires you to pay a fee at the airport, or you may prefer to obtain this in advance through the relevant embassy or a visa agent. For visa-on-arrival in Vietnam, you must submit some paperwork before you arrive.

This is an option to get your visa for Vietnam instead of getting visa at the Vietnam consulate in your country.

Step 1: Provide us your application details

Step 2: Process your visa information into a visa application 
We will contact you for reviewing your visa information and then submit your application on your behalf to Vietnam Immigration department and follow other procedures pursuant to the regulations of Immigration department to get Visa approval letter granted by Immigration department.


Step 3:Send the visa approval letter via email to you after 2 working days 
After we obtain the visa approval letter from the Immigration department for you, we will forward you a scanned copy of it by email (Your visa information then have been recorded to the Visa system of the Vietnam Immigration department).


Step 4: Get your visa stamp on your arrival 
Just print the approval letter out, prepare 2 passport sized photos and an amount of USD for stamping fee ($45 for single entry visa; $65 for 1 month multiple entry visa and $95 for 3 multiple entry visa). Put all above mentioned things along with your passport in a package, then show them to Immigration officer at Vietnam arrival airports.

Upon arrival at Vietnam’s airport, expect a simple form to fill in (or you can download here to fill beforehand), present the visa approval letter, passport, photos to the Immigration officer inside the counter and look for a place to hear your name be called to get the passport back and pay for the stamping fee. The actual process takes around 15 minutes without hassle or trouble.


What are the differences between this process and getting visa at Vietnam embassies?
It is only applicable for those who travel to Vietnam by air. You only need fill out the visa application form online instead of visiting the Vietnam embassies or sending documents to Embassies over by post.The online visa application does not require sending your passport away.You get a visa approval letter issued by Vietnam Immigration Department indicating that you are allowed to enter Vietnam and have your visa stamped upon arrival at one of Vietnam international airports.
